Ever since Monday, I have been thinking about and reading about manhood. Deep down, the question and the commentary have really been coming out and I’ve really been realizing the need and desire to further investigate my responsibilities and expectations that are on me as a man.
The expectations I realize run deeper then being there for people or fighting for what’s right. I made the point in my Monday blog post that it’s about being in the likeness of God. My very character, my very being, my everything, hinges on my relationship and connection to God and Christ.
It’s not to my physical attributes! It’s not to my home! It’s not to my computer! It’s not to anything physical or temporary. However, I do learn to appreciate everything that comes with being a guy.
It seems that we do have a society filled with men who deep down are still that boy who cower in fear for the future. They have hurts and scars that are heart centered and they lack the knowledge or wisdom on how to deal with it. Often times, they hide this through actions or behaviors that are nowhere near close to the likeness of God.
I remember former articles I wrote on manhood and “manliness,” and I must admit, I know NOW more about this topic then I did a few days ago.
Now then, Echo Hub. VERY awesome conference! I will definitely make sure to attend next year.
Here are three big things I took from it and I hope to expand on this more in future articles:
1. Let Your Current Place In Life Prepare You For What’s Next. (Job, School, Church for example)
2. Get Connected (Meet others who do what you want to do BETTER then you). In fact, connect with others who don’t think like you, look like you or even believe like you. You are a light to a dark world after all!
3. Share Your Work! Don’t Hide It!
4. Be content with where you are!!!
